Main features of the UMG 604-PRO

HARMONICS

Harmonics are caused by equipment with non-linear characteristics, such as transformers operated in saturation, energy-saving lamps, frequency converters and power electronics. They burden the grid with additional currents and can affect or even destroy equipment. These grid perturbations can be detected and documented using power quality analyzers.

MEASURING DEVICES-HOMEPAGE

The web server on the measuring device provides a wide range of data in a clearly structured form. The user does not need to install any software on his PC, a standard web browser is sufficient. The user enters the IP address of the measuring device in the URL window of the browser and the homepage of the measuring device appears on the screen. In addition to the modern homepage, APPs are also available for an extended range of functions.

JASIC®

With the Jasic® graphical programming language, the user can add their own functions to a UMG measurement device. Up to seven freely definable user programs can run in parallel, e.g. monitoring of processes or messages when defined limit values are reached. In addition to graphical programming, the user is free to program the code directly in JASIC.

EVENTS

Events are short-term voltage increases or dips, overcurrents or short-term interruptions (e.g. due to bird strikes or short circuits). UMG measuring devices can reliably record and process events from 20 ms and transients from 50 μs duration. This allows the causes of power quality fluctuations to be identified and analyzed.

ETHERNET-MODBUS-GATEWAY

Modbus RTU devices that are connected to the master device as slaves can be very easily integrated into an Ethernet architecture via the Ethernet Modbus gateway. For devices with an identical file format and matching function codes, this is possible directly via the Modbus RTU interface.

MEMORY

Many UMG measurement devices have their own memory with typical recording ranges of up to 2 years. Recording is freely configurable. A 128 MByte memory can store around 5,000,000 memory values, a 256 MByte memory can store around 10,000,000 memory values.

THE EVALUATION AVAILABLE AT ANY TIME

Each measuring device has an integrated web server with its own homepage. The measuring device can be operated via the device’s own homepage as well as via the device display.

In addition, current and historical measurement data, including power quality parameters, can be called up on a large scale. The advantage of the device homepage is the constant availability of measurement data – without prior software installation.

The user immediately receives an overview of all energy data. The device homepage can be displayed on any end device and is adapted according to the device functions (responsive design).

The uniform design of the GridVis® visualization software and the device homepage makes it easy to use.
