Power capacitors for power factor correction
Areas of application
- Motor fixed compensation
- Group compensation
- Automatically controlled power factor correction
- Choked power factor correction systems
- Harmonic filter
- Dynamic reactive power control systems
Segmented film
The metallization of the film is divided into segments that are connected by conductor bridges. In the event of a local breakdown, the bridges burn through, separating the affected segment and thus protecting the intact segments.
Low losses (PV)
Janitza’s power capacitors have dielectric losses of just 0.2 W/kvar. The total power loss is 0.5 W/kvar.
Self-healing
Due to their design, the capacitors are self-healing. In the event of a localized short circuit, the fault burns away and blows out the arc. This ensures high long-term stability.
Long service life
The capacitors are designed for a long service life in several respects. The low losses and optimized thermal design minimize the thermal load. In addition, self-healing ensures that the capacitors remain operational even after quasi-short circuits.
